Busy week. Nearly over, although we have to go in to work on Sunday. We recorded a gig on Wednesday night. It was great fun working as part of a five camera team. Slightly nerve wracking, using a lens I only had ten minutes to practice with before the shoot on a tripod I also wasn't used to. We had a wonderful crew meeting before hand. The Portuguese people are so welcoming and so helpful. The gig was great fun in it's own right, and even though I was amped up to the Nth degree during filming I had to remind myself to stop tapping my feet and shaking my hips to the intoxicating rhythm of the music for fear I would sabotage my own shots. Colm and I have been given all the video and audio footage from the performance and given permission to create our own edit of the performance. it won't be possible to get around to it until we get back home but I'm looking forward to it. it did mean that we had to go to work during the day and then get to the venue for seven o clock that evening, and it was 1 am before we finally got to call it a day but it was a fantastic experience which left me physically drained but happy as a Pig on rollerskates in a field full of truffles.
Here are some photos I took on the way home. I was experimenting with shutter speeds and long exposures with mixed results. Obviously I'm showing you the best ones. Hakuna Matata people.
