So we've been in Tenerife for 3 days now and only now feel settled in enough to have time to write a blog post. I suppose we better start with our journey over. We left for Tenerife on the 21st of January and our bus from Galway to the airport was at 8:45 am. Needless to say, we were all a little bit excited. I could barely sleep the night before, I woke up at 4 am and couldn't go back to sleep with the excitement. We all gathered at the bus station and our lovely bus driver Frank took a photo.
Our flight was at 2:15pm so by the time we got landed, checked in and through security we just had enough time to get something to eat. The flight was really long (3 hrs and 50 mins) but we got landed safe and sound. Sarah was a little more safe than sound as she doesn't like flying and there was some unexpected turbulence on the flight. When we got landed we met Theresa from TJT (Tenerife Job Training) who helped us get our bus and gave us a run-through for the next day. The apartments were about 50 mins from the airport so by the time we got to them we had been travelling for about 13 hours. We were all pretty exhausted and hungry so went to find something to eat. What an adventure that was. We walked around for an hour trying to find somewhere that was open and eventually found somewhere called Snuupy burger. The food was gorgeous and although there was a slight communication problem we couldn't fault the service. After we finished eating we carried on walking and took in our first sight of Tenerife at night. The place is so peaceful and quiet at night and the architecture is beautiful. Needless to say it really got us excited for the rest of our time here.
